It's all about the Lashes

Throw out your eyelash curlers, and your mascaras; forget about the early wake-up calls to apply your eye make-up - it is all about the eyelash extensions!

Today I treated my lashes to some Kat loving from Toorak Beauty Lounge.
It's always hard to find a beautician that you trust to do the best to keep your eyelashes as healthy as possible, but at the same time achieving the look that you are after. After scrolling through TBL's Instagram page (@toorakbeautylounge), it was evident that Kat and her sidekick tailor their treatments to each client.

Kat spent time explaining each part of the process to me - which lashes are being using and why (Kat used the C-Curl Silk eyelashes on me - as I have naturally straight lashes and a lot of them), the different lengths of the lashes (smaller in the inner corner of the eye, working out to longer lashes), where the lashes are placed, as well as care instructions (I will be sleeping standing-up for the next few weeks - just kidding).

After an hour of individually setting each lash (time flies when you are being pampered), I have a full set of long and lucious lashes. Suprisingly, their is no heaviness to my natural eyelashes; in fact I cannot even feel that the individual lashes are there. You are also given a brush, to keep your lashes always looking tidy.

A full set of lashes will cost you $150 (for either silk, arcylic or faux mink - be guided by Kat with your decision, as each individual's lashes will vary). Refills cost $50 (after 2 weeks of your original appointment, $70 (after 3 weeks), $90 (after 4 weeks) - anything outside this time frame would be considered a full set of lashes.

I've received loads of comments about these babies so far - and they are definitely worth the price.
In my opinion, I would rather spend that little bit of extra money on someone who I trust - and who that I know will not ruin my natural lashes, is hygienic, knows the proper techniques to applying lashes, and listens to what type of results you are after.

Kat also offers eyebrow waxes, eyelash tints, facials - as well as a few very exciting new treatments that she will be announcing in the next month! Keep a keen eye on her Instagram to find out more, and for notifications of special offers.

I would definitely recommend paying Kat and her team a visit - to book an appointment email toorakbeautylounge@gmail.com or call 0405 963 877. If you are driving there I would suggest parking off of a side street (eg. Jackson street) to avoid a parking fine.

Looking forward to my next appointment!

What do you think of my new lashes?

Confessions of a Shopaholic

As my blog readers and Instagram followers would all know by now, I am a shopaholic.

Yes, I admit it (admitting is the first step - right?).

I have this obsession where I like to collect things - eg. every size of the Chanel classic flap bag, every colour of the Hermes bangles etc. It's sick, I know.

In the past 3 days I have racked up quite a big bill of designer items.

On Sunday it started with adding a Medium sized Chanel bag to my collection (I already have the small bag and the maxi). This time I opted to go for silver hardware, as my last two bags are with gold hardware.

On Monday I decided that I need a gold hardware click-clack bracelet at Hermes, to accompany my gold hardware Chanel bags (I already have the click-clacks in Black and White - but both with silver hardware).

By Thursday I had that itch again. The one you get when you haven't spent money in a few days - yep, that one. So I visited the new Marais store in Melbourne (note: my sales assistant Monica was lovely, however I can't say the same about the store manager Ian). Now early this year I traveled interstate to Sydney to pick-up a Celine Mini Luggage in Black - however to my disappointment there were none in stock. So when I saw this baby stocked in the Marais store, I knew it was a sign - or at least that's what I told myself anyway (I have a knack for convincing myself to purchase high-end goods; can you tell?).

So that is my week in shopping. My bank account is begging me to stop. I have purposely worked from my home office today, to avoid the temptation of spending another dollar.

I hope you like my goodies, as much as I do!
