Chanel VIP day

A big thank you to our friends at Chanel for inviting us to two exclusive events this week (in particular Gemma and Katherine from the Chadstone boutique).

From the beautiful hand written invites, to the take-away box of goodies from Karl Lagerfeld himself, Chanel Paris styling extraordinaire Claire-Emmanuelle Bosse shared her wealth of Chanel knowledge with us in a money-can't-buy experience.

AACTA Awards

Our favourite colour scheme was displayed in Australia's answer to the Oscar Awards, the AACTA awards - monochrome.

From different shades of white...

To darker shades of black...

Our two stand-outs for the evening were Emma Freedman and Brooke Satchwell, both dressed in a LBD.

Who were your faves? Let us know on Instagram @jspstyling

Kendall & Kylie take Australia

Debatably the more popular of the expanding Kardashian Klan - move over voluptuous derrieres, it is all about Kendall and Kylie Jenner.

On the 17th November, Forever New launches a 19-piece capsule collection - filled with lace, honeycomb-like material, jumpsuits, blush, monochrome and a hint of leopard print.

If you are lucky enough to live in Melbourne, the Jenner sisters will be at fashion HQ, aka Chadstone the 'fashion capital', at 4pm on Tuesday 17th November (warning, it will be Khaotic).

Spring Racing Carnival

Melbourne is notorious for their weather - we are prone to getting all four seasons not just within the one day, but within the one hour #TourismAustralia

The Melbourne weather was reflected in the Spring Racing Carnival fashions.

On Cup Day, when the sun was out - we saw pops of vibrant colours - from pinks all the way to fluro yellow.

Oaks Day saw Melbourne grey, rainy, and with a tornado warning - so the fashion was no different. From pastel pinks, lavenders - to whites and greys.

Throughout the four big carnival days, our two stand-out fashion on the field fillies were Bec Judd and Jen Hawkins both wearing sculptured king, Toni Maticevski.

Trend Alert

Move over monochrome, it's summer - and all our focus is on PINK.

The Spring Racing Carnival had us feeling pretty in pink - with brighter hues than ever before.

Shop this trend (right) at Kookai.

Copy Cat

The Spring Racing carnival outfit shopping is well under way.

One of my picks from Kookai's runway show, was the Positano dress for Derby Day (or as I like to call it "the all black errrrythan day"); so it was no surprise that I have stumbled across a copy cat version from Carla Zampatti.

Kookai's Positano dress retails for $240, and is available in both black and white (this dress dropped in boutiques on Monday - but be quick, they will sell!)

Carla Zampatti's dress retails for $699, and is available in black, navy and white.

Lucious Lashes

I am OBSESSED with all things lashes.

My life dramatically changed when my beauty therapist Kat from Toorak Beauty Lounge, first introduced silk eyelash extensions into my life (for that, I will be forever grateful Kat!).

Just when I thought my C-curl lashes couldn't get much better, Kat has now introduced 2D/3D lashes into the salon.

What's that you may ask?

The 2D/3D lashes are the absolute epitome of VOLUME!
Each lash, has 2-3 pieces of soft, light-weight extensions, applied to the individual eyelash.

So whether you have limited natural lashes, or you want something more dramatic - there is an easy-wear option for everyone.

To book your very own set of 2D/3D lashes, click here.

Monday surprises!

For anyone who has been following me from the start of my blogging adventures, the brand Curtis Collection would be familiar to you.

One of my go-to staple items for my daily make-up is Curtis Collection's Luxe Liner.

I was very lucky to receive some goodies today along with my fave eye-liner, including an amazing long-lasting V Gloss, as well as the Naked Glow BB cream and Naked Glow CC cream (yes, it's a thing!).

Thanks to the beautiful Victoria Curtis for always making sure my make-up collection is on point!

If you don't already, be sure to follow Curtis Collection on Instagram @curtiscollection

Miss Australia

On Sunday I worked with the gorgeous Miss Australia, Jessica Peart, to get her styled from head-to-toe for her overseas trip next week, for the Miss Universe campaign.

Here is one of our favourite looks from Kookai (Ariah Dress, RRP $200).

The Brownlow 2015

The Brownlow's are well under way, and the fashionistas are arriving thick and fast.

The one emerging pattern is WHITE (a nice change from the standard black - even for me..)

But there is only one winner, and again, this goes to my former-colleague, Jesse Habermann in Oglia-Lora Couture. We love this look on the newly engaged WAG! Perhaps some bridal inspiration Jesse?!

Goodbye Contouring, Hello Strobing

First Kim K got us obsessed with contouring. A technique used to enhance the facial structure through makeup with subtle definition.

Now, we are putting the bronzer away, and picking up our highlighters to strobe.

Strobing (or reverse contouring) involves a high emphasis on dewy skin by highlighting where light would naturally hit your face - cheekbones, brow bones, centre of your forehead, down your nose, and on your chin.

It is a technique which involves a high emphasis on dewy skin and highlighting to give a bright, glowy look.

This French trend, is a way of emphasising the beauty in a person’s face rather than changing the face altogether through contouring.

Here are my fave strobing tools:

MAC

Mineralise Skin Finish
Soft & Gentle
$47

MAC

Lustre Drops
Pink Rebel
$47

Happy strobing!
