Quick Tips

I have 2 favourite lip products that I have added to my staple list.

The first is from MAC - 'Prep and Prime' lip (RRP $33). I refuse to wear any type of lipstick without using this baby first.

The clear primer will hold your lipstick on all day.

If you talk a lot, eat a lot, or kiss a lot - this primer is for you.

Not to prime is most definitely a crime.

Next up is a newly discovered cheapy from the Body Shop ($12.95), the 'Lip Liner Fixer' - and fix it does.

As you would have read, my new Rebel lipstick feathers around the edge of my lips. Instead of buying a lipliner to match each of my lipsticks, the Body Shop have created a clear liner (cue the hallelujah chorus).

Now, time to add these beauties to your make-up bags!

Copy Cat

Love the Burberry Cape as much as these celebs? Avoid the $1395 price-tag, by purchasing Witchery's copy-cat version, for $169.95.

So, who wants to personalise one of these babies for me?

Sneak Peak: Grace + Scarper

Grace + Scarper are set to release the newest line of their 'Seventh Promise' collection, the 'Charmeleon' range.

Chameleons are known to change colouring as a way of social signalling.

Similarly, our Cha
rmeleon collection which represents seven distinct promises; are a way of commemorating to our friends, our loved ones, or even to ourselves, something special, something of importance, something of meaning.

These little reminders, these little promises, can be collected to symbolise the G+S Seventh Promise.

We were lucky enough to receive some pieces from this collection, to play with over this long weekend - and all we can say is L-O-V-E.

Grace + Scarper will be releasing these charms in the first week of February. For more sneak peaks and to pre-order, follow G+S on Instagram @graceandscarper

Lo Bosworth (Laguna Beach and The Hills star) wore Australian designer, Zimmermann at today's SAG awards.

I have always liked this dress, but I'm not sure of it's SAG awards worthiness. Lo's stylist should have gone with a different colourway for her pale skin - as this nude washes her out. Alternatively, a spray tan and different shoes wouldn't have hurt.

Shop this Silk Plunge Drape dress which was $495, and now down to $300 in-store or online.

SAG Awards

The Screen Actors Guild (SAG) awards were filled with monochrome dresses, pantsuits, and everything in between.

Our favourite was Reece Witherspoon in white Giorgio Armani.

JSP Loves

We are absolutely loving MAC cosmetics lipstick in Rebel.

A deep red/purple colour - I like to call it 'red wine' (but I might be getting too excited that it's Friday); is perfect for a pop of colour, with a lip stain affect.

Take this look from day to night, for only $36 (or if you are returning 6 empty MAC items, receive this lippy for free as part of the 'Back to MAC' program).

Tips: wear a primer under this lipstick to keep it long lasting.

Note: a lipliner will stop this satin finish lipstick from feathering around the edges of your lips.

Sneak Peak: Kookai

New year, new stock - and Kookai has been one of the first to deliver.

As you all know, I am very much a monochrome girl - so I thought I would add a pop of colour with this skirt (pretty adventurous, right...)

If you love the cobalt palette, this scuba-material range is also available in a crop, as well as a dress.

Skirt - Kookai (Ingrid Skirt - Cobalt)
Necklace - Kookai (Fine Slate necklace - Silver)
Shoes - Sportsgirl (Indie Peep Toe Boot - Black)
Watch - Chanel (J12 - Black)

On point

There has been so much hype over our home-grown Aussie 'celebs' wearing their personalised nautical Aje tops this Summer.

So much hype, that Aje have decided to take orders for these customised tee's from the public until January 31st (RRP $350).

To snag your own initials, call their Paddington boutique on (02) 9356 4454.

Our JSP Styler's can't wait to add one of these to our collection.

Golden Globes

The Golden Globes are well and truly underway.

We-spied-with-our-little-eyes a whole lot of white, and a whole lot of sparkle - a common theme so far in 2015 (we can say that 12 days into the New Year right?!)

As you can see, the belle's of the ball all took the 'safe' option this year, with no real stand-outs.

Hopefully this warm-up red carpet will give them a boost of confidence for the next awards show.

To be continued..

Look for Less

Love Maison Valentino's signature design of stud-encrusted pieces? So do we.
With our Summer weather, girls are looking for fresh white clutches for Sunday afternoon drinks; but without the designer price. Cue in, Kookai...

The Kookai copy-cat version, the 'Manhattan clutch', retails for only $100 - saving your hip-pocket.

Polo

When my clients asked me what my 2015 Polo predictions were, my answers were:
-White
-Lace
-Jumpsuit or two-piece outfit (ie. midi skirt)
-Wedges (you would be crazy not too)

This morning I posted my vision on Instagram - as you will soon see, it seems that one of Melbourne's most famous WAG took note...

Today many brave ladies, headed out in this wintery-Melbourne weather (and yes, it is summer...) to the Portsea Polo to look at everything but the horses.

Bec Judd must've read my mind with my predictions as she ticked each and every box in her go-to couturiers, J'Aton.

This jumpsuit's neoclassical flowers, were said to be inspired by Billie Judd (Bec's daughter); and the duo joked that the outfit was tablecloth/nonna's curtains-esque. The sleeves resembled Kate Seal (nee-Twigley, aka Bec's recently married sister's) wedding reception outfit.

For J'Aton, who are quite left-field, this outfit was a win for me. What did y'all think?

Shop the Look

After being inundated with questions and comments on Renee Bargh's dress from the People's Choice Awards - we realised you too loved her red carpet look.

If you want to get Renee's Misha Collection look, the Flora Crotchet Dress is available to buy online for $365 (how down to earth is our girl?!).

Be quick though, I can guarantee you this dress will be flying out the doors.

2015

What better way to kick-off the New Year, than with a red carpet?

The People's Choice Awards presented us with glitz, glam and a little edge last night.

We loved that Aussie expat Renee Bargh host of 'Extra' represented her home soil by wearing local brand Misha Collection.

The PCA is a little less formal than the Oscar's, Emmy's and Golden Globes - so Renee's outfit was on point.

Aussie, Aussie, Aussie.....

The colours include:
Paradiso (645) - My personal fave of the collection; this shade is a light metallic silver.

Desiro (643) - Very similar to every other nail polish I own; this shade is is a berry/fuchsia.

Tenderly (649) - If you are into violet hues, then this shade is for you.

What do you think - rate or hate the new season Chanel beauty?

How to survive the festive season

Christmas may be the happiest time of the year, but it can also be the most stressful - especially for those of you that need/want to shop.

I know you're brave, you're simply taking one for the team every time you courageously head out to the shopping centres.

I have put together a guide to help you keep on track this silly season.

Pre-Christmas

-Know what you want. Research a gift for each of your friends and family online, prior to hitting the stores. This will not only save you time when you hit the centre, it will also help you stick to a budget.

-Know how much you want to spend. An extra $10 here, an extra $20 there can all add up. Know your limit for each person and stick to it.

-If for whatever reason (and I truly mean, whatever reason you crazy people!), you choose to go to the 24-hour trading nights, the quietest time is between 3-4.00am.

-No matter how late you have left a present, gifts from a service station are never a good idea. You can almost buy vouchers for any retail department (except for Victoria Secrets - what's with that?!).

-Don't buy a present for the sake of it. Yes, you may not love your mother-in-law, but that doesn't mean you should get her something you wouldn't like yourself. Unless you would use/wear the gift - leave it at the store.

-If you are absolutely in love with a certain item, and you cannot live without it you should buy it right then and there. If you used the L-word on that item, there's a good chance someone the same size as you has also used it it. Sometimes waiting for the sale can lead to disappointment.

-If you like an item (key word 'like'), I can almost guarantee you that it will be at least 20% cheaper on December 26 (unless of course we are talking high-end brands such as Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Prada - 'sale' is not a part of their vocab). So if you don't need it, wait. I have already started a list of things that I need to purchase on Boxing Day (watch out Chadstone!).

-And the best invention of all time for Christmas shoppers - GIFT RECEIPTS! This way the person doesn't know how much you've spent, and it still gives them the opportunity to swap if for another colour, size etc. You're welcome!

Post-Christmas

-Go early! You will have plenty of other times to sleep in, didn't you have a food-induced nap yesterday after lunch? Avoid queues, and guarantee yourself a carspot by waking up with the birds.

-If you can get dropped off to the shops, even better. Only if you know you won't be buying big and heavy items that you need to drop back off to the car.

-Wear comfy shoes. A lot of walking, a lot of waiting in lines - the last thing you want to worry about is your feet.

-Wear clothes that are easy to take on and off. If you are going to be trying things on, you won't want to be fiddling with tricky zippers. Save yourself the time and energy by wearing something loose fitting.

-If you see something you like it - pick it up. Even if you are still not 100% sold on it - because as soon as you let that item gone, someone else will snap it up. You know what they say, those who hesitate...

Remember, a lot of people will be spending their Christmas money and vouchers, as well as exchanging items during this period - patience is they key to pre/post holiday shopping.

PS If you are really a savvy shopper, after New Years, the 20% off sale will usually turn into a "take a further 20% off the 20% off sale".

Good luck!
