One piece

Years ago it was all about the one piece bathing suit, not too long ago the two piece had started taking over, but now it is all about the modified one piece.

The one piece was originally a plain coloured swimming garment that had the one standard shape, and was predominantly chosen for either the really young, the really old, or the really self conscious.

ALL this has changed with the revolutionised one piece.

One piece bathers no longer have to be daggy, check out these sexy pieces that I have found:

Beth Richards designs are all about the mesh..

These mesh pieces are more like outfits, than bathers. Throw on a skirt on top of one of these, and you can head from the beach to a social outing, without having to go home and change.

Want to stick to more the traditional one piece material, but make it a little risque? Shimmi have designed a one-shoulder bathing suit, with cross over peep holes on the side. Showing less skin than you would with a two-piece, but a little more than a regular one-piece.

And for those girls who LOVE the attention, a plunging neck line, and a low back one-piece is perfect for you, with thanks to ASOS.

Next, for those who are more body conscious than others (I would say that's most of us right?!), I have found some clever tricks to hide your most unfavourable parts:

The tummy girls

The clever ruching in the tummy area, is the perfect way to cover all those lumps and bumps. Not only are these designs functional due to the ruching around the tummy, the sexy design around the bust pushes the focus away from your tummy, and on to another asset that you prefer.

The criss-cross design is from Norma Kamali, and the plunging neck is from Karla Colletto.

Again, two designs that are for the body conscious, but at the same time are still sexy!

The busty girls

Again, with the help of our favourite technique, ruching, one can hide their top-heaviness.

Take this Norma Kamali piece for example, as the material is not fitted across the chest, instead is ruched, a large bust can seem smaller than it really is.

The bathing suit is still sexy, as it is fitted from the bust down, and instead of all the attention being focused on your bust, it is being pushed towards the one shoulder.

The wider girls

Shadowing - what a wonderful thing. This technique is frequently used on Kim Kardashian, to hide her wider areas. This one-piece may look like an ordinary bathing suit, but in fact, on closer inspection the side paneling is shaded black.

Karla Colletto cleverly used this shading to assist girls whose are self conscious of their wider torso, to appear more narrow.

Look when the model turns to the side - can you see how cinched in her waist looks? Clever, right!?

It doesn't take magic to have you looking sexy in your one-piece, it is all about the little tricks - the techniques used, the fabrics used, the colours. Find what works for you, as there is no excuse as to why anyone will ever have to wear a 'boring' bathing suit again!
